UKonline in the west – everyone is enthusiastic about the events. The libraries service are running something everyday and Northumberland Adult Learning Service have a whole group already signed up. Problems with the county broadband caused tons of frustration. UK onliners tunred up but the system wouldn’t work.Tutors and DCs struggled to get the technology to respond with some degrees of success. The county needs to sort out its broadband delivery with providers. So lets keep on with it and welcome to inorthunmberland and other partners lets get it to work for the economic and fun benefits of northumberland residents

This was a totally stimulating day and great to see so much information. As I’m fast approaching 50 ! I found the information personally very useful as well as making some good connections with other organisations. People were very enthusiastic about UK Online activities and we recruited a few digital champions as well as those wanting training. There was a wide range of activities – things I’d never heard of before – aqua yoga. And the hall was full for the Zumba session – congratulations to all of you who lasted the full session. It looked exhausting!
It’s clear from the feedback that people value these yearly event – so I’ll be there next year!

I attended this event and it was really fantastic to see so many people receiving certifcates for ESOL learning. and to catch up with some of you. And it was great that some of the women came to the Fit For Fridays event on the Friday. Some great links have been developed between individuals and I hope we will be able to do more fun activities together.

It’s great to see that you are all still working hard to keep this community newspaper going and I remember the days (over 12 years ago!) when it first started and we all bumbled along until Anna came along and got us sorted! You all do such a fantastic job and the quality is excellent – better than the local commercial newspaper, I would say! This is a project close to my heart and it’s great to see it continuing and being so well received within the community. Well done folks!

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the ESOL awards ceremony in Berwick a success and putting it online – Eva Bologova for showing people how to make a group postcard; Beata Kholbek for her skills and commitment in taking people through their ESOL learning; Raymond for taking brilliant photos to record everything; Elizabeth for organising the certificates, the food and so much more; Gerry for being the VIP and certificate giver and Nina for helping us get ready and for posting the blog. Looking forward to working with the people who signed up for more support with getting online in future.
